A 50 acre lake forms the backdrop to a 42 acre garden with sweeping lawns, stunning herbaceous borders and majestic specimen trees.   Explore the garden via two suggested walks.  A long walk leads you around the lake to garden features including Raleigh's seat, the Cascade, Fossil House and the Folly.  The Shorter walk takes in the Sunken garden, the "Ginkgo Lawn" and the Orangery. From the boathouse and pier, there are wonderful views of the old castle ruins.  Colour is provided throughout the seasons, from spectacular displays of spring bulbs and daffodils, through summer planting and  the breath taking colours of autumn are reflected in the lake.
